Collegium Civitas is an independent school of social and political sciences in Warsaw, Poland. It is a brainchild of the leading social scientists from the Polish Academy of Sciences. Collegium Civitas is renowned for its strong and diverse community of academic instructors, distinguished professors, prominent practitioners, special experts and visiting scholars. Collegium Civitas has a strong expertise in International Relations which is one of the major teaching programmes currently offered. It recruits lecturers among major policy makers and practitioners some of whom were involved in Poland's transition to democracy and European enlargement process. Its teachers have held important positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Finance and at the National Bank of Poland, and have contributed to major think-tanks. Collegium Civitas aims at providing young people with knowledge and skills which would be essential to their successful careers and life plans. It offers BA, MA and PhD degree programmes and out of 250 courses offered each year 80 are given in English. For many years Collegium Civitas has consistently been ranked first among the non-state universities in Poland. It is holds accreditation from the National Accreditation Commission and from the Conference of Rectors of Polish Universities. Collegium Civitas is located in the centre of Warsaw, the Polish capital, which is a vibrant, friendly and affordable city. The Collegium Civitas students form an animated and imaginative international group of 27 different nationalities.
